Tuyet Shan / Ancient Snow Shan Tea
“Tuyet Shan” is the protected designation of geographical origin for tea of tea trees of the same variety in Ha Giang, North Vietnam. That’s why the “cakes” of our Ancient Snow Shan “sheng” and “shou” come with a certificate of authenticity! “Ancient Snow Shan”, on the other hand, is a very free, but all the more loving, quasi “mixed-language” translation of the term from the pen of our local producer partner.
In addition to particular wealth of flavors and ingredients, the variety stands out with its extraordinary range of processing variations. Accordingly, the leaves of Tuyet Shan tea trees serve for producing green tea, black tea and white tea. In addition, the processing to “sheng” and “shou” is a self-evident standard in the Yunnan bordering region. However, most amazing is the outstanding quality of Tuyet Shan teas in every single one of these processing variations.
BashTea – The Producer
Bach Shan, or BashTea, is a long-established local tea producer on family level. In their close-to nature tea gardens, the up to 20 meters high tea trees thrive in their natural environment. Tea is first and foremost a passion here, and this passion becomes evident in each of our “Ancient Snow Shan” teas. As to that, the careful hand picking and traditional Artisan processing already become obvious from the dry tea leaf. However, the complete work of art proverbially unfolds with the tea leaves in the infusion. Yet a meticulous picking standard and the immaculate appearance of the leaves are only the visible signs of the underlying principle of uncompromising quality.
