The Clubbox @ Siam Tea Shop is a flexible format for the theme-based bundling of several types of tea in generously portioned tasting size at preferential price.

The July Edition – “Colors of Tea”

The 10th edition – SiamTeas Clubbox No.10 – is called “Colors of Tea”. Based on the Chinese tea color code, the box contains 25g of a selected variety from each of the 6 classic tea processing categories. Accordingly, the composition ranges from green to white, yellow, oolong and black tea to a representative of the pu-erh category. Of course, only teas of exquisite taste, excellent quality and an outstanding price-performance have made it into the box.

Accordingly, the SiamTeas Clubbox No.10 – “Colors of Tea” – offers 25g each of the following teas:

1. Anhua Son Zhen Green Tea

Anhua Song Zhen is a green tea from an organic tea garden in Anhua, Hunan. A special feature of the variety is the eponymous needle shape of the processed tea leaves. This is reminiscent of pine needles (“song hen”) also in terms of color. The dry tea leaf’s mild and sweet, slightly hay-like aroma gains both in complexity and depth through the bright yellow-green cup’s sweet maroni notes.

2. Da Xue Shan Ye-Sheng Pu Erh Tea

Da Xue Shan Ye Sheng Pu Erh Tea is an unripened Pu Erh tea from wild tea trees growing at altitudes around 1900 meters in the forests of Da Xue Shan in Lincang’s Yong-de district. The roots of a seed-grown tea tree reaches as deep as 2 meters into the ground, this way making the abundance of the soil available for the tea plant. The tea surprises with unique orchid aroma and unusually creamy texture.

3. Huang Ya Yellow Tips Yellow Tea

Huang Ya Yellow Tips yellow tea is both one of China’s oldest and rarest  types of tea. By the time of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) at the latest, yellow tea gained recognition as one of the most important imperial tribute teas. Then as now, mastering the particularly sensible art of yellow tea processing is a privilege of a few masters. With mindful preparation, the visually and olfactorily appealing 1:1 mixture of white buds and yellow-green shimmering leaves in the honey-yellow cup results in a mild taste characterized by fruity-sweet and hay-like notes.

4. Jin Mao Hu Golden Money Black ( Red) Tea

Jin Mao Hue Golden Monkey is a black tea from Fu’an county, in the northeast of China’s Fujian province. It convinces with palatefulness and a complex, slightly volatile and everchanging mouthfeel. The pronounced, caramel-sweet roast note harmonizes with a fresh, fruity note reminiscent of ripe peaches with a hint of orchid. The resulting aromatic compound lingers on the gourmet’s palate for a long time in the aftertaste of the tea.

5. Wuyi Waishan “Ai Jiao” Dwarf Oolong Tea

“Ai Jiao” or “Dwarf” oolong tea is an oolong tea typical of the east Chinese province of Fujian. Accordingly, the open-rolled leaf, medium roasting an rather high level of oxidation are major processing characteristics. In terms of taste, the tea is characterized by the sweet dried fruit notes typical of the Oolong teas of this region and processing style, melting with mild roast flavors to a perfectly harmonious sweet and mellow taste.

6. Ancient Tree White Moonlight Buds

Ancient Tree White Moonlight Buds is a rare and highly distinctive tea specialty from Yunnan, China. It is the pure buds, handpicked during March and April from ancient Yunnan tea trees and processed according to a secret method passed on from one generation to another in the producer’s family since hundreds of years. Regarding taste, White Moonlight Buds Tea combines the elegance of a White Silver Needle tea with the rich and depth of teas yielded from ancient wild tea trees.
