‘Earthen 1′, Aroma Cup/Drinking Cup Tea Set, clay pottery, 12-piece, comprising of 6 aroma cups and 6 drinking cups  – a Must at any tea degustation and/or tea ceremony.

The first infusion of the degustated tea is intitially poured into the aroma cup (also scent cup or snifter cup), which is then served with the drinking cup put upon it upside down. The tea taster skillfully turns the whole thing around holding it with two fingers. Then the empty scented aroma cup is lead to the nose to savor the tea’s scent. Only then follows the actual tasting from the drinking cup – according to old Chinese tea tradition in 3 gulps: one for the sky, one for the earth, and one for the human between them.

The inner surface of the cups are cladden with white ceramics to make the color nuances of the tea infusion well recognizable.
